In a significant political development, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially welcomed the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency Umo Eno, into its ranks.
The announcement was made in a press statement released by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.
According to the statement, the National Working Committee of the APC, led by its National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, expressed delight at Governor Eno’s decision to join the ruling party.
The move is seen as a major boost to the APC’s influence in the South-South region of Nigeria.
“We are confident that his thoughtful decision will inure to the greater progress of Akwa Ibom State and its people,” the party noted.
The APC also assured Governor Eno of full cooperation and support within the party structure.
The statement further stated that the governor’s entry into the party aligns with efforts to expand the APC and drive the full implementation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“Our great Party assures the Governor of its fullest cooperation and accommodation in the APC family, as we continue to grow the Party and work together towards the full realisation of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the good and benefit of all Nigerians,” the statement concluded.
