Hon. Gboyega Isiaka, a member of Nigeria’s House of Representatives representing Yewa North/Imeko Afon Federal Constituency, has been installed as the Seriki Adinni of Yewaland by the Yewa Muslim Community Organisation.
The ceremony took place on Saturday in Imeko Afon, Ogun State.
In his acceptance speech, Isiaka expressed deep appreciation to the League of Imams and Alfas of Yewaland for the honour, which he described as spiritually meaningful and historically rich.
He pledged to serve the Muslim community faithfully, uphold Islamic values, and use his position to promote truth, unity, justice, and compassion.
He added that true faith should be expressed through service to others, stating, “Titles may decorate a person, but it is service that dignifies the title.”
Isiaka, who also serves as Chairman of the House Committee on National Planning and Economic Development, spoke about the vital role religion plays in national development.
He called on Nigerians to use religion as a tool for unity rather than division, noting that the collective desire for progress and a better Nigeria should bring people together regardless of their faith.
Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, represented by his deputy Noimot Salako-Oyedele, congratulated Isiaka, calling the honour well-deserved.
He described Isiaka as a principled, humble, and disciplined leader who has consistently worked for the betterment of his people.
The governor expressed confidence that Isiaka’s new title would further strengthen the unity and spiritual growth of the Yewa Muslim community.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including members of the National Assembly, traditional rulers, and Islamic leaders.
