Natasha reacts to FG’s attempt to arrest her

Suspended Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has confirmed that the Federal Government is moving to arrest her following criminal defamation charges filed by the Department of Public Prosecutions under the Ministry of Justice.

The matter came up on Monday at the Federal High Court in Abuja, where prosecutors asked the court to issue a bench warrant for her arrest.

However, the judge, Justice M.G. Umar, turned down the request because the charges were handed to her lawyer just minutes before the hearing began.

The judge questioned how she could have been expected in court without prior notice.

The charges are connected to an interview she granted on April 3 during a political programme on Channels Television.

In that interview, she accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio and former Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello of plotting to kill her.

Senator Natasha later confirmed the charges and the arrest plan through her verified social media account.

She explained that two separate cases have been filed against her based on complaints by Akpabio and Bello.

The first case, marked FCT/CR/297/2025, is scheduled for June 19, 2025, before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory.

The second, FHC/ABJ/CR/195/2025, is set for June 30, 2025, at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

She stated that although the charges were not served on her ahead of time, her lawyer, J.J. Usman (SAN), appeared in court on her behalf and received the documents at 9:18 a.m. that morning.

Shortly after, the prosecution requested her arrest, but the court declined.

Senator Natasha maintained she will appear in court on both dates as scheduled.

She is currently under a six-month suspension from the Senate.

On what basis do they want to arrest her. Akpabio I don’t know; But Yahaya Bello is a veteran in silencing opponents finally. Why will he Federal government be involved in the satanic agenda to silence this woman.
