The Super Falcons, Nigeria’s women’s national football team have clinched a record-extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title, following a 3–2 comeback victory over hosts Morocco in a final at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat, Dockaysworld reports.
The Moroccan Lionesses took full advantage of their home support to get a two-goal lead in the first half.
However, the Super Falcons turned the tide in the second half of the match. Esther Okoronkwo pulled one back in the 64th minute from the penalty spot. Seven minutes later, Folashade Ijamilusi scored the equaliser in the 71st minute.
In the 88th minute, substitute Jennifer Echegini completed the turnaround to secure a Nigerian Victory.
With the win, the Super Falcons had reaffirmed their dominance in African women’s football with a 10th continental title.
