The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has said it is not focused on zoning as it prepares for the 2027 presidential election.
Instead of concentrating on which region should produce the next president, the party said it is more concerned with building a strong national structure and offering Nigerians a reliable alternative.
According to the party, zoning has contributed to the current political challenges in the country, and there is a need to shift attention to leadership built on merit, ideas, and national interest.
The ADC explained that its strategy is to grow its presence across all levels of government and not just target the presidency.
The party maintained that it is laying the foundation for long-term success and believes that true political change must begin from the grassroots.
It also said its structure is different from traditional political groups, as it is driven by the desire to change how politics is done in Nigeria.
