Kogi Federal lawmaker suspended indefinitely

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kogi State has suspended the lawmaker representing Yagba East/West–Mopamuro Federal Constituency, Leke Abejide, over alleged misconduct.

According to a statement issued by the party’s state secretary, Adaji John, the suspension is indefinite and comes after Mr Abejide reportedly held a meeting with some party members in Abuja without seeking approval from the state leadership.

The ADC accused the federal lawmaker of undermining the authority of the state chairman and secretary, making disrespectful remarks about the leadership, and engaging in actions considered harmful to the party’s progress in the state.

The party warned Mr Abejide that continued defiance could lead to his expulsion.
