Tinubu rewards D’Tigress

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given both players and crew of Nigeria’s senior women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, cash rewards, new residences, and national honours in recognition of their victory at the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket Championship.

Dockaysworld reports that Tinubu announced that each D’Tigress player would receive $100,000, a fully furnished apartment, and the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).

The coaching staff will each receive a cash reward of $50,000, together with the OON national honour.

The announcement was made at a special reception held on Monday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
