Tinubu’s minister speaks on presidential ambition
Minister of Works, David Umahi, has declared he should be the frontline candidate when presidency is eventually zoned to the Southeast.
He pointed to his track record in Ebonyi State and his current role in federal projects across the region.
He made the statement in a video shared on Instagram on Sunday, noting that President Bola Tinubu is using his office to improve infrastructure in the Southeast.
Umahi explained that all Southeast governors are already backing President Tinubu’s second term bid in 2027, stressing that their collective support is tied to the ongoing federal presence in the region.
Umahi said, “All the governors of the South-East are supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second term.
“When the presidency comes to the South East, I should be at the forefront because of my performance. God used me to better Ebonyi State, and Tinubu is using me to better the South East.”
