You should be tried at the international criminal court, Sowore tells Wike

Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has fired back at Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, after the latter remarked that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu showed him “luck” by not taking action when he called the president “evil.”

In a strongly worded response posted on social media, Sowore accused Wike of being unfit for leadership, describing him as a “drunkard, land grabber, thief and murderer.”

He alleged that Wike stole land in Abuja, robbed Rivers State during his tenure as governor, and was responsible for the killing of Igbos during the Obigbo incident in 2020. According to him, Wike’s alleged actions should make him a candidate for trial at the International Criminal Court in The Hague.

Sowore also took aim at Nigerians, saying the complacency and docility of citizens had allowed individuals he described as “criminals and thieves” to attain high positions of power.

The latest exchange comes after Wike, while speaking at a public event in Abuja, referenced Sowore’s past criticisms of Tinubu, suggesting the president could have punished him but chose restraint instead.

Neither Wike nor the presidency has responded to Sowore’s latest remarks as of press time.
