Fubara finally returns to Port-Harcourt
Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has returned to Port Harcourt, the state capital, following the end of the six-month emergency rule imposed by President Bola Tinubu.
The governor landed at the Port Harcourt International Airport around 12:19 p.m. on Friday, more than a day after Tinubu lifted the emergency.

A large crowd of supporters gathered at the VIP wing of the airport to welcome Fubara back.
The governor’s return follows a period of absence from state governance that lasted since March 18, when Tinubu declared the emergency amid a political crisis in Rivers.
During this time, retired Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas was appointed as the administrator to oversee the state’s affairs.
