Actor Bishop Umoh AKA Okon Lagos, has defended the rape of alleged sex workers who were arrested by policemen in Abuja some days ago.

About a week ago, there was outrage on social media over the recent arrest of dozens of women during raids on nightclubs by a Joint Task Force.

The women were detained at Utako Police Station, where many alleged that they were molested and sexually assaulted.

While the police claimed the women were arrested because they were hanging around nightclubs, the Public Relations Officer of the Social Development Secretariat of the FCTA, Sunday Shaka, said some of them were arrested for provocative dressing, consumption of illegal drugs and attracting criminal elements.

However Bishop Umoh ‘Okon Lagos’ who reacted to the outrage and campaign against the rap£ of ladies who were accused of prostitution by the Abuja policemen, defended the sad act as he claimed the charge should be theft and not rape.

In a video he shared, he claimed that these women were prostitutes who have no shame and all the policemen did was take ‘their product without paying’.

He wrote as he shared the video; ‘Both are criminal acts but different… Rape and Theft. There is a little of one in another’
