ADC expels 9 party officials
The Kaduna State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has expelled its Deputy Chairman, Ahmed Tijani Mustapha, along with eight other party officials over alleged misconduct and breach of party rules.
The decision was reached during a meeting of the State Executive Committee (SEC) held in Kaduna on Tuesday, where the members were accused of actions that could damage the party’s image.
Those affected include the State Publicity Secretary, Engr. Idris Musa; State Vice Chairman (Zone 1), Sulaiman Abdullahi; State Treasurer, Gambo Sani; State Financial Secretary, Magaji Maiwada; State Legal Adviser, Danlami Dabai Musa; State Coordinator of Persons with Disabilities, Saura Muhammed; Deputy Youth Leader, Ibrahim Muhammed; and Mansur Gaga.
According to the party’s leadership, the expelled members were involved in insubordination, unauthorized meetings, falsification of documents, and extortion of party members.
The State Chairman, Elder Patrick D. Ambut, said the move became necessary to safeguard the party’s integrity and ensure discipline among its ranks.
Ambut accused the Deputy Chairman of abusing his office and impersonating party officials, which created tension within the Kaduna chapter and across the North-West zone.
He reaffirmed that the party remained committed to order and accountability in line with the ADC constitution.
Meanwhile, the State Executive Committee directed the Deputy State Publicity Secretary, Alex Tagwai, to serve as Acting Publicity Secretary pending further internal arrangements.
The development comes just days after the ADC suspended its South-South Vice Chairman, Usani Usani, for alleged anti-party activities and insubordination.
