Akwa-Ibom governor dumps PDP for APC

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress.

He announced this move on Friday, June 6, during an event held at the Government House in Uyo.

Eno said the decision followed “three months of wide consultation” with critical stakeholders across the state.

The event was attended by several APC leaders from different parts of the country.

It marked a big political shift in the state, as the governor had previously been a strong member of the PDP.

His decision to switch parties adds to the growing number of politicians moving to the ruling party.

With Governor Eno now in the APC, the number of states controlled by the PDP has dropped to ten.

These states include Adamawa, Bauchi, Bayelsa, Enugu, Osun, Oyo, Plateau, Rivers, Taraba, and Zamfara.

More to come..
