A late Riyad Mahrez sublime freekick ended the super eagles dream of reaching the 2019 AFCON finals in Egypt.

Algeria dominated a first half in which few chances where created. And following some impressive play they where ahead thanks to Troost-Ekong own goal

Ighalo slotted iwobi’s Pass wide following an impressive build up as super eagles began to push for an equaliser.

Nigeria showed huge improvement after the break but then needed a slice of luck to equalise in the 72th minute.

Aissa Mandi Blocked Etebo’s long range drive with his Arm and Refree bakary awarded a penalty after consulting VAR.

Ighalo then steeped up and Cooly slotted with 18minutes to play.

The super eagles then again began to build momentum deep into added time but Riyad Maherz had the last say, the Algeria Captain then brilliantly settled matters with a stunning freekick from the edge of the box.

The reward for Algeria is a Mouthwatering clash between senegal, who beat tunisa 1-0 on Friday.
