The general overseer of Omega fire ministries Apostle Johnson Suleman has said that the Nigerian government lacks the capacity to address what he admits have been persistent killing of Christians across the country.
The cleric made the remark during a recent sermon, responding to claims that religious leaders have remained silent on the matter.
He recounted past experiences involving attacks on his church in Abuja, noting that he had consistently spoken against such killings for over a decade.
According to him, his continued advocacy and condemnation of the attacks have been met with resistance and personal risk, yet the issue has remained unresolved due to what he described as the government’s inability to effectively tackle it.
His comments come in the wake of U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent designation of Nigeria as a “country of particular concern” and his threat of potential military action if the situation is not addressed.
Pastor Enoch Adeboye has also reacted to the recent threat by advising the Nigerian government on next steps to take.
