The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Ishaq Oloyede, became emotional and apologised publicly on Wednesday over errors that occurred during the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Due to these issues, JAMB has announced that nearly 380,000 candidates will have to retake the exam.

The announcement has caused concern across the country, with many expressing disappointment in the examination body’s handling of the situation.

Professor Oloyede admitted the faults and expressed deep regret, assuring Nigerians that measures are being taken to prevent such problems in future exams.
