APC Governorship Aspirant flogs supporters with broom in Osun

A video of All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant and former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, flogging members of a crowd with a broom has sparked outrage among Nigerians.

In the viral clip, Omisore was seen repeatedly striking at a group of supporters with the broom during his campaign declaration rally. The act has drawn sharp criticism from netizens, who described it as degrading and a show of contempt toward potential voters.

Many Nigerians online condemned the behaviour while urging political leaders to show respect to the electorate.

The incident took place during Omisore’s official declaration to run for governor in the 2026 Osun State election at the APC secretariat in Osogbo.

Speaking earlier at the event, Omisore had boasted that his political pedigree and experience in governance would earn him the party’s ticket, insisting that the people of Osun were eager for good governance after three years of what he described as underperformance.

The election is set to hold in 2026.
