APGA Suspends Senator Abaribe
The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Abia State has suspended Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, who represents Abia South Senatorial Zone, over allegations of anti-party activities.
The suspension took effect on Friday, September 26, 2025, following a resolution reached by the State Executive Committee of APGA during its meeting in Umuahia.
The party accused the senator of misconduct, disobedience to party instructions, and actions that it said had tarnished the image of the party.
According to APGA, Senator Abaribe was earlier given a 24-hour notice to respond to allegations of working against the party’s interest.
After reviewing the situation, the leadership concluded that there was enough reason to place him on indefinite suspension in line with provisions of its constitution.
The party stated that the suspension would remain in place until a disciplinary committee is set up to hear the case and decide on the next steps.
It also confirmed that relevant agencies and the public had been notified of the decision.
