Bandits strike Kwara again, kidnap pregnant, nursing mothers


Another community in Kwara state, Isapa, has been attacked by bandits leaving 11 people kidnapped including pregnant and nursing mothers, Dockaysworld can confirm. 

The attack happened at, a community bordering Eruku in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, where 38 church worshippers were kidnapped previously. 

The gunmen, estimated at between 20 and 30, stormed the community around 6 p.m on Monday, firing sporadically as they moved through several areas with a large herd of cattle.

A list shared by residents confirmed that 11 people were taken, including seven members of the same family. 

The victims include Talatu Kabiru (20), Magaji (6), Kande (5), Hadiza (10), Mariam (6), Saima (5), Habibat (housewife), Fatima Yusufu, Sarah Sunday (22, pregnant), Lami Fidelis (23, nursing mother), and Haja Na Allah (nursing mother).

“The situation is heartbreaking,” a resident told reporters. “Eleven people, including a pregnant woman and children, were taken. We are traumatised. No one feels safe anymore.”

Kwara State Police spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, did not confirm the incident, saying only, “Please be on yellow while I gather necessary information.”

Recall that the Kwara church victims have regained their freedom though the government claims that no force was used, nor ransom paid.
