Barcelona ‘lower Philippe Coutinho asking price’ as Liverpool advised to sign him

Spanish football club Barcelona, are prepared to lower their asking price to offload flop Philippe Coutinho, according to reports from Spain.

Coutinho joined the Catalans in a $142m deal from Liverpool before being sent out on loan to Bayern Munich.

Coutinho returns to Spain this summer but doesn’t appear to be in new manager Quique Setien plans.

According to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, the Nou Camp club would consider selling Coutinho when the transfer window opens, adding that they would even offload for a reduced fee.

The report comes as Liverpool have been advised to re-sign the midfielder, who was a standout player at Anfield prior to leaving.

Former Liverpool star Steve McManaman told Reporters:

“It could be that they opt to bring a certain  PhilippeCoutinho back to the club. I wouldn’t mind seeing Coutinho back. He’s a brilliant player but a lot of it is just down to economics.

“If they can bring Coutinho back for a reasonable fee and potentially sell a couple of players who aren’t playing regularly, then that could work.

“There are rumours that Xherdan Shaqiri may leave at the end of the season, and Adam Lallana may want to play more often.
