Bauchi governor sacks commissioner

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has sacked Hajiya Zainab Baban Takko as Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development.

The governor’s office described the move as a minor reshuffle within the State Executive Council.

No specific reason was given for Takko’s dismissal.

She was appointed to the position on September 9, 2024, after previously serving as Caretaker Chairperson of Bauchi Local Government Area, a role she assumed in July 2023.

The reshuffle affects only a few positions within the state cabinet, and the governor has not announced a replacement for the commissioner’s role.
