Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential candidate for the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) has boycotted the 2019 Presidential debate as President Buhari refused to show up.
The candidate of the major opposition party in Nigeria arrived in Abuja today, from a trip to America. The former President had arrived at the scene of debate but became concerned when the incumbent, President Buhari did not show up.
He boycotted the debate and released, via a series of tweets, his decision and the reason behind it.
Atiku claimed he couldn’t go on with the debate as he could not attack a man who would not be there to defend himself. He said that he could not challenge the current administration in the absence of its head.
