The Department of State Services (DSS) has released Sahara Reporters publisher Omoyele Sowore after 4 months in custody.

The convener of RevolutionNow Movement was arrested by the DSS on August 3rd in Abuja.

A DSS source disclosed this to TheCable on Thursday night. Marshall Abubakar, one of the lawyers of Sowore, later confirmed the development.

“He has been released. I am with him as we speak,” he said

This is coming after the court ordered that Sowore be released within 24 hours and fined the DSS N100,000 for the unlawful detention.
