Carlo Ancelotti has been confirmed as Everton’s new manager, sealing a sensational return to the Premier League.

Ancelotti, 60, was only sacked by Napoli earlier this month but was made Everton’s No.1 choice to replace Marco Silva.

Everton held positive initial talks with Ancelotti’s representatives before the Italian flew into London for face- to-face negotiations with owner Farhad Moshiri and chairman Bill Kenwright.

He agreed terms on a bumper four-and-a-half year deal which is understood to be worth in the region of £11.5million-a-season – making Ancelotti one of the best- paid managers in world football.

He is in attendance at Goodison Park today, for the Premier League meeting with Arsenal.

Ancelotti’s first match in the dugout will be the visit of Burnley to Goodison Park on Boxing Day.
