Manchester United sealed a dramatic last-minute deadline day deal to sign Odion Ighalo on Friday night.

Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sealed the signing of former Watford striker Ighalo from Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua until the end of the season.

United fought off a late bid from former boss Jose Mourinho and Tottenham to hijack the move, securing the former
Nigeria international.

Under the terms of the deal, United will pay a loan fee of around £5million up front, plus half of Ighalo’s £300,000-a-
week wages.

Ighalo, originally due on a flight from China on Thursday that was cancelled because of the coronavirus, will fly to
Manchester on Saturday to complete his move.

Ighalo, a boyhood United fan, was desperate to secure a return to the Premier League, having left Watford in 2017 after plundering 39 goals in 99 appearances.
