The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially declared Governor Charles Soludo of APGA the winner of the Anambra governorship election, confirming his re-election.
According to the final results released by INEC, Soludo secured a total of 422,664 votes, decisively outpacing his closest rival.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate garnered 99,445 votes, while the Young Progressives Party (YPP) scored 33,652 votes.
Other contenders included the Labour Party (LP) with 10,482 votes, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) with 8,317 votes, and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) trailing with 1,774 votes.
State Collation Officer and Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Prof. Edogah Omoregie, announced the figures after the collation exercise on Sunday at the commission’s headquarters in Awka.
Soludo’s win marks a historic landslide for APGA, as the governor-elect won every LGA in the state with massive margins, consolidating his party’s dominance in Anambra.
