The Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, has died at the age of 91.
His death was confirmed on Sunday, July 13, 2025, just hours after the passing of his close friend and ally, former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Oba Adetona, one of Nigeria’s longest-reigning monarchs, passed away peacefully after a long and respected reign on the throne of Ijebuland.
