Nigerian singer Burna Boy, has advised artistes not to think they’re talented because of good streaming numbers as the numbers don’t always mean good quality.
The singer who is now widely referred to as ‘The African Giant’ made this known via a post on his Instagram stories.
According to Burna Boy, some works which were just meant for jokes like ‘baby shark’ and ‘Gangnam style’ are doing better numbers than everyone else and so should not be a metric for talent.
He said those who were sensible could detect the real talent and separate them from the jokes.
He added that much talk wouldn’t sway anybody but that time would tell who the really talented ones were.
