Erika Kirk, the widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, has forgiven, Tyler Robinson, the man accused of killing her husband.
Speaking at a packed memorial service in State Farm Stadium, Erika addressed 22-year-old Tyler, who has been charged with Kirk’s assassination on September 10.
“The answer to hate is not hate,” she said tearfully, drawing silence from the crowd before applause broke out.
The memorial drew tens of thousands of mourners, many dressed in red, white, and blue.
Top figures from the Trump administration, including the president, attended the service. While many spoke about Kirk’s political legacy and the fight over free speech, Erika’s words of forgiveness stood out as the most powerful moment of the night.
Charlie Kirk, who founded Turning Point USA, was known for his dedication to debating ideas and furthering free speech and other rights.
