Church member scams pastor of N9 million

A member of the church, Grace Prophetic Ministry has scammed the Pastor and General overseer of the church of N9 million. 

Punch metro reports that the 39-year-old church member and businessman identified as Obiora Okosi has been arraigned for defrauding his former pastor at a Gudu Upoer Area Court in Abuja. 

The defendant who lives in Anambra is being tried on two counts of breach of trust and cheating.

The prosecutor, Blessing Igale, told the city that a David Elijah had reported the case at Police headquarters. Elijah accused the the defendant of luring the pastor into buying a land in Abuja for N12 million.

She further revealed that the Pastor had paid N9 million but did not receive the land or his money back when that proved abortive. 

The Prosecutor alleged that the defendant had resorted to threatening the life of complainant. The prosecutor said that the offences contravened the provisions of sections 311 and 321 of the Penal Code. The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail at N1 million with the case adjourned to January 29.
