Comfort Emmanson explains her side of Ibom Air incident
Comfort Emmanson has finally shared her own account of what happened during the controversial August 10 Ibom Air flight from Abuja to Lagos, which led to her arrest, imprisonment and public uproar.
According to her narration, the issue began during boarding when a flight attendant instructed her to switch off her phones. Emmanson said she had difficulty shutting down one of her devices because the power button was faulty.
With assistance from a fellow passenger, she managed to turn off both phones through the settings, and she believed the matter had been resolved.
She recounted that after the plane landed in Lagos, she went to use the toilet before disembarking.
By the time she came out, most passengers had already left. While hurrying out, she said the same attendant blocked her path and prevented her from exiting the aircraft.
Emmanson stated that she attempted to record the encounter on her phone, but this escalated the situation.
She alleged that the attendant forcefully pulled at her hair frontal, necklace, and clothes, causing injuries and damage to her belongings.
In the heat of the altercation, security officers entered the aircraft, restrained her, and dragged her outside.
She said the struggle left her partially exposed, and several people filmed the incident while she tried to cover herself.
