Ibom Air passenger, Comfort Emmanson has dragged the Federal Government, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), and other parties before the Federal High Court in Lagos.
She is seeking N500 billion in damages over what she described as unfair treatment in separate aviation incidents involving her and musician King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal.
The suit, filed under number FHC/L/CS/1632/25, names as respondents the President of Nigeria, the Attorney-General of the Federation, Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo, NCAA, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Ibom Air, ValueJet, Nigerian Correctional Service, King Wasiu Ayinde, the Nigerian Police Force, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, the state’s Attorney-General, and the Airline Operators of Nigeria.
According to her lawyer, Ayodele Ademiluyi, the case was instituted to defend public interest and to call attention to what he described as the failure of authorities to apply the law equally.
He alleged that while Emmanson was penalised swiftly, the musician faced no arrest or prosecution despite being linked to actions capable of disrupting a flight.
The suit also faults the decision to appoint Wasiu Ayinde as a brand ambassador in the aviation sector, describing it as inappropriate.
It further accused the Airline Operators of Nigeria of overstepping its role when it imposed a life ban on Emmanson, a sanction later withdrawn.
Ademiluyi asked the court to compel relevant agencies to take proper action, insisting that the case should set a clear precedent that no one is above the law regardless of influence or status.
He said: “Our aviation system needs a complete overhauling. We cannot allow impunity to reign or degenerate into a banana republic where someone can stop a plane with their bare hands and walk away without consequence.
“It’s a gross imbalance. There was no arrest, no arraignment, no prosecution of Mr. Kwam 1. In fact, he was rewarded with a brand ambassadorship for the aviation sector. What message does that send to the public?
“If someone can stop a plane with their bare hands and be appointed a brand ambassador, it sends the wrong signal.
“We are asking for an order of mandamus to compel relevant authorities to take proper action against those involved, particularly Mr. Kwam 1.
“This is not about celebrity status or political connections — it’s about the sanctity of the rule of law.
“The central issue remains: Mr. Kwam 1 is walking the streets free. That is a big slap on the rule of law.
The suit we have filed is a public interest action. The collective interest of the polity is at stake.”
What I see here is a suit against the federal government and NCCA from her lawyer not against her maltreatment and deformation of character and image, why using her for selfish purpose Mr lawyer
Is it the federal government and President Tinunbu that arrested you? You’re going too far if you don’t know people that advice you to go to court they didn’t like you at all.
The lawyer should’ve singled her case out not using her case to pursue other purposes as she’s the subject not Mr Wasiu (keam1) as the case maybe. Although it can be referenced but Emmanson is the reason for the suit.
Very soon, she will also see cross Sueing, all those she kicked and slap are animals abi? The Lawyer just want to play to the Gallery. Wetin concerns President in this matter.
who is pushing you comfort
God as been in ur side already and you have been favoured i don’t think you should go ahead and file case against FG
Case dead on arrival. In law, there is nobody known as Kwam1.
