Coronavirus: NCDC warns against use of Chloroquine as Nigerians begin to overdose

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC has advised Nigerians to desist from self medicating with Chloroquine as a remedy for Coronavirus.

According to the NCDC, the World Health Organization WHO has not approved the use of Chloroquine for the treatment of Coronavirus.

Recall that US President Donald Trump on Thursday March 19th, said that the United States’ Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the use of Chloroquine in the treatment of coronavirus.

The FDA had later denied the claims as the President admitted that he only felt strongly that the drug would work.

NCDC has warned that self medication with the drug could cause harm and lead to death.
