Court Frees ‘Unruly’ Ibom Air Passenger

An Ikeja Magistrate Court in Ogba, Lagos, on Wednesday cleared Comfort Emmanson of all charges following an incident aboard an Ibom Air flight on August 10, Dockaysworld reports.

Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami dismissed the five-count charge after the police moved to withdraw the case, following a resolution brokered by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN).

Keyamo said the decision came after consultations with aviation stakeholders, public appeals, and recognition of the remorse shown by those involved. As part of the agreement, Ibom Air formally withdrew its complaint against Emmanson.

The accused had been arraigned on Monday, granted ₦500,000 bail with two sureties, and remanded at Kirikiri Correctional Centre pending fulfilment of the conditions.
