Ukrainian cryptocurrency expert and blogger Konstantin Ganich, popularly known as Kostya Kudo, has been found dead in his Lamborghini Urus in Kyiv.
Police confirmed that the 32-year-old businessman died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, with a registered firearm found beside him.
A check on Kudo’s instagram stories also showed confirmation of his death, saying, “Konstantin Kudo tragically passed away. The causes are being investigated. We will keep you posted on any further news.”
According to authorities, Kudo, who was the co-founder and CEO of the Cryptology Key Trading Academy, had been struggling with depression and financial stress in the days leading up to his death. He reportedly sent a farewell message to his loved ones before the incident.
Investigators have opened a case under Article 115 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code (intentional murder), noting suicide as the preliminary cause of death.
Police and forensic experts were called to the scene in the Obolonskyi district of Kyiv early Friday. In a statement, law enforcement officials said the deceased was “an entrepreneur and blogger whose activities were related to cryptocurrency.”
News of Kudo’s death came as the global cryptocurrency market suffered a massive downturn. More than $19 billion has been wiped out in liquidations following a steep drop in Bitcoin and other digital assets.
The crash was reportedly triggered by a new round of U.S. trade tariffs on China announced by President Donald Trump, leading to what analysts described as “the largest liquidation event in crypto history.”
