Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group, has announced that petrol will be sold at ₦739 per litre starting Tuesday, beginning with MRS Oil and Gas stations.
The move follows a recent reduction in the refinery’s petrol gantry price from ₦828 to ₦699 per litre.
The company said it will ensure that Nigerians experience the benefit of the lower price, making fuel more affordable.
Dangote said that although the gantry price was reduced, some filling stations continue to charge high rates, limiting the impact of the price cut.
To prevent this, the refinery will monitor sales and invite buyers to purchase petrol at the reduced price.
Dangote encouraged those able to buy in bulk, including up to 10 trucks, to take advantage of the offer.
He also said the refinery will use all available resources to lower petrol prices across Nigeria, adding that no one should pay more than ₦740 per litre in December and January.
Dangote warned that efforts will be made to stop anyone from selling fuel above this limit.
The initiative is set to begin with MRS stations in Lagos and will gradually include other partners of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery, aiming to make affordable petrol accessible nationwide.
