Details of ADC meeting in Abuja emerge
The details of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) meeting in Abuja have emerged.
The meeting in Abuja brought together key leaders, including National Chairman David Mark, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and former governors Nasir el-Rufai, Aminu Tambuwal, and Chibuike Amaechi.
Although Labour Party leader Peter Obi was absent, he sent apologies and reaffirmed his commitment to the coalition.
Bolaji Abdullahi, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, spoke to journalists on the details of the meeting.
He revealing new instructions for party members and plans for the 2027 elections.
The party has asked all its members to resign from any other political parties they belong to, though no specific deadline has been given.
During the session, the caucus concluded all matters relating to the African Democratic Association (ADA), confirming that the coalition will not pursue its registration or further involvement.
On the 2027 presidential race, all ADC aspirants agreed to support the winner of the party’s presidential primaries.
The National Working Committee (NWC) will soon announce dates for primaries in Osun and Ekiti states ahead of the off-cycle governorship elections.
He said : “Though final order has been given to all members to resign membership of other political parties, the caucus was silent on the timeline.
“The Coalition has rested everything concerning the ADA. That means, they are not interested in the registration or otherwise of the association.
“All the presidential aspirants have agreed to support whoever wins the primaries election.”
