Amid recent concerted overview on the security architecture of the country by the president, the Department of State Services (DSS) has announced the dismissal of 115 officers.
It revealed that this was part of sweeping internal reforms to restore discipline and integrity within the agency.
In a statement on Tuesday, the DSS said the purge was carried out over an extended period and formed part of a broader effort to stamp out corruption and professional misconduct among its ranks.
The Service warned Nigerians to beware of some of the dismissed operatives who are still “parading themselves as DSS personnel.”
“In addition to earlier disclaimers on the duo of Barry Donald and Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, the Service finds it necessary to warn citizens of the fraudulent activities of some of these persons still posing as DSS personnel,” the statement read.
It further cautioned the public against engaging such individuals in any official dealings, adding that their names and details have been published on the DSS website.
