Everton 3-1 Chelsea: Abraham fires blank as Lampard men stumble to shock defeat

Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored twice for Everton as Richarlison also hit the target in a 3-1 victory over Chelsea to give Duncan Ferguson victory in his first game as caretaker boss.

The Blues were unrecognisable from the side which had lacked confidence, belief and even a semblance of commitment in recent weeks, as their new boss introduced a
sense of real fight and spirit into the team.

It was enough to blow Chelsea away in a whirlwind opening 15 minutes, as Richarlison scored a powerful header to set
the tone for a pulsating afternoon.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin added a second after the break, when he smashed Kurt Zouma off the ball to finish, and when the visitors responded by controlling the game and getting one back through Mateo Kovacic, they didn’t panic and showed real resolve.

That was rewarded with a second from Calvert-Lewin after good work from sub Tom Davies – and Ferguson showed his
pleasure by cavorting raw down the touchline, and hoisting a ball boy aloft in jubilation, as the fans chanted his name.
