Former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh, has died at the age of 78.
He passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2025, according to a statement from his family.
Ogbeh served as the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development under President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
He held this position from 2015 to 2019.
He was chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from 2001 until January 2005.
He served as the minister of communications in the Nigerian Second Republic from 1982 to 1983.
The family said funeral details will be announced later and expressed gratitude to friends, colleagues, and well-wishers for their prayers and support during the mourning period.
They also requested privacy as they grieve the loss.
