Ex-Zimbabwean President, Robert Mugabe robbed of nearly $1 million

Ex-Zimbabwean President, Robert Mugabe has been robbed of nearly $1 million from his country home in Zvimba. 

The money was reportedly stolen from a bag owned by the Ex President. 

According to updated court papers Mugabe had filled the bag with a million dollars and stashed it in the library of his country home in Zvimba, west of the capital, in 2016.

When the bag had been opened January 6 this year, it had contained only $78,000. Three persons have been accused of the crime including Constancia Mugabe, a relative of the the President.

The suspects appeared before the Chinhoyi magistrates court on Thursday and were ordered to return on February 7.

Mugabe whose location is unconfirmed since late November was said to be bed ridden in Singapore. 

The Prosecutors had said that Constancia had connived with the other two suspects by allowing the suspects into the home with her key. They had posed as cleaners to steal the money.
