The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted that 14 states across the country will experience moderate to heavy rainfall from Wednesday, May 28 to Friday, May 30, 2025.
According to the weather update, the affected areas include Bayelsa, Rivers, parts of Delta, Ondo, Edo, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Imo, Abia, the Federal Capital Territory, Kaduna, Nasarawa, Kogi, and Niger.
The forecast also revealed that the rain may come with strong winds.
NiMet warned that the expected downpour could lead to flash floods in some places.
The agency also pointed out that the rains may make roads slippery and reduce visibility, which can cause delays and dangers for road users.
People are advised to avoid driving through floodwaters, as the force of the water can be stronger than it appears.
As the weather system moves across the country, residents of the listed areas are encouraged to stay updated with local forecasts and take safety measures to protect themselves and their surroundings.
