A group of former Abia governors, including Orji Uzor Kalu, Theodore Orji, and Okezie Ikpeazu, have said they are ready to sue Governor Alex Otti for running the state from his private residence in Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa South LGA.
Dockaysworld gathered that the decision was taken during a meeting at former Governor Theodore Orji’s residence. The group also includes former legislators and political appointees who served between 1999 and 2023.
In a communique read by former media aide Victor Ike Oye, they said, “A lawsuit should be instituted compelling Governor Alex Otti to operate from the Government House, Umuahia.”
They expressed dismay that Otti is still working from his personal home. The group also pledged support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election and thanked him for nominating Okezie Ikpeazu as an ambassador.
Meanwhile Governor Otti who is the only Labour Party governor in the country has been affirmed to be the national leader of the party by its national working committee following the defection of Peter Obi to the ADC.
Recall the governor noted that he didn’t have any plans to decamp to the ruling party as many of his counterparts have done in recent months.
