Former Adamawa State governor and one-time senator for Adamawa North, Mohammed Umaru Bindow, has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
He registered as a member and picked up his party card in Mubi North Local Government Area.
This move was confirmed through social media posts shared today.
It means Bindow has now left the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and is aligning fully with the ADC.
Bindow was governor of Adamawa from 2015 to 2019 and served as a senator between 2011 and 2015.
With his new membership, he is expected to contribute to the ADC’s preparations and outreach activities, especially as the 2027 general elections draw closer.
His entry into the ADC comes at a time when the party is gaining new supporters in Adamawa.
Former vice president Atiku Abubakar and the APC’s 2023 governorship candidate in the state, Senator Aisha Binani, have also joined the party.
