Former Nigerian minister dies in Lagos


Reports have it that a former Nigerian minister of state for Education, Olorogun Kenneth Gbaji is dead.

Gbaji was a businessman, politician and governorship candidate in Delta State.

According to The Will, he died in a Lagos State hospital after a brief illness.

Until his death, he was the owner of a security company called GKO Security Nig. Ltd.

He supplied security materials to banks and to the high and mighty in the society.

He had investments in real estate with over 700 properties to his name.

His properties are worth billions of naira.

He also invested a lot in tourism. He had so many hotels in the 3-7 star classes.

He was the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, in the March 18 2023 governorship election in Delta State.

Kenneth Gbaji

Former Delta State governor, James Ibori took to X formerly Twitter to mourn the business mogul.

He wrote:

“With a heavy heart, I mourn the passing of my dear friend and brother, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi. Olorogun was a very courageous politician and a fierce advocate of good governance.

“Delta State has lost a true statesman and servant of the people. Olorogun Gbagi’s commitment to uplifting our state and its citizens were unimpeachable. His life was one of selfless service and sacrifice for the greater good.

“While he has departed this world, Olorogun Gbagi’s shining legacy and example will forever light our path. We mourn this irreplaceable loss, but take solace that his life’s work has made an indelible impact on our state. On behalf of my family, I say farewell Olorogun Kenneth Omemavwa Gbagi – you will be forever missed and honoured”.
