Geh Geh sparks outrage after downplaying Aki and Paw Paw’s talent [VIDEO]

Financial expert and social commentator, Geh Geh, has sparked heated debates online after making a bold claim about Nollywood legends Chinedu Ikedieze (Aki) and Osita Iheme (Paw Paw).

According to him, the iconic comic duo were not genuinely funny, but rather their physical appearance, particularly their height was the main factor behind their rise to fame.

Geh Geh made the remarks while speaking to his students on his online learning platform, which he calls the Geh Geh University of Wisdom and Understanding.

In his words, “To dey ugly na advantage. In the entertainment world your looks na advantage. Short…wetin blow their Aki and Paw Paw that time no be say they really too funny, na their height.

How many of Una know say Aki and Paw Paw still dey act movie till now. Why their recent movies no too dey blow like that? Na because they no look the way them look that time. Only that their look wey you dey see that time e dey de funny…”

The financial expert went further to argue that looks play a crucial role in shaping careers in the entertainment industry.

Using Aki and Paw Paw as an example, he insisted that while the pair are still acting, their more recent films have not enjoyed the same level of success as those in the early 2000s because their once “unique look” is no longer as striking as before.Geh Geh didn’t stop there.

He also compared the situation to that of skit makers, claiming that comedians who build their brands around appearing poor or rugged often lose their comic appeal once they begin to look wealthy and refined.

“In the entertainment industry, looks go a long way in determining the direction of one’s success,” he added.

His comments have since triggered strong reactions across social media. While some agree that appearance and branding play a huge role in showbiz success, many others have described his remarks as disrespectful, dismissing them as an attempt to undermine the undeniable talent, wit, and comic timing that made Aki and Paw Paw household names across Africa and beyond.

For over two decades, the duo have remained beloved figures in Nollywood, starring in countless blockbuster comedies that defined an era of Nigerian cinema.

To their fans, their influence goes far beyond their height, representing creativity, resilience, and the global appeal of Nollywood.

Still, Geh Geh’s controversial hot take has reignited conversations about the extent to which “looks” and “physical appearance” shape success in the entertainment world and whether talent alone is ever enough.
