A video of Ghanaian traders reportedly chasing Nigerian traders away has gone viral on social media.
From the video, some members of the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA) could be seen locking up stores owned by Nigerians, chasing them away from the vicinity.
According to reports, the Nigerian traders were allegedly chased out for violating section 27 of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) Act 865, which stipulates that the sale of goods or provision of services in a market, petty trading or hawking or selling of goods in a stall at any place in the country must be reserved for Ghanaians.

However, the GUTA members insisted that Nigerians are violating the law by using the ECOWAS protocol which allows the free movement of goods and citizens of the sub-region to trade and do any kind of business in any place, as backup.
