Homeless man gifted millions after sneaking in to perform during Tony Elumelu’s event

A homeless young man identified as Doyin has received life-changing financial support after slipping into an event attended by billionaire Tony Elumelu in Lagos and delivering an unexpected performance that stunned guests.

Businessman Morris Monye, who shared the story on social media, said the incident happened on Saturday during a Heirs Insurance event featuring prominent personalities, including Elumelu and VFD Group CEO Nonso Okpala.

According to Monye, the event’s MC randomly invited members of the audience to sing or dance using the Heirs Insurance name.

The young man, who had been loitering around the venue hoping to get free food, stepped onto the stage and “sang his heart out,” drawing loud applause and admiration from attendees.

Impressed by his talent, Elumelu gifted him ₦1 million. Okpala also donated ₦1 million, and several other guests followed with additional contributions.

Monye noted jokingly that the MC “even got jealous” as the donations grew. He said the young man had been homeless, jobless, and struggling despite being educated.

“He was just at the right place at the right time,” he wrote, adding that the spontaneous moment has now transformed the performer’s life.
