How Davido’s father bought music label so his son could start career

It’s been revealed that popular singer Davido’s billionaire father, Adedeji Adeleke, bought out a record label when his son declared serious interest in music. 

Tosin Ashafa, son of former Lagos lawmaker, Senator Gbenga Ashafa, has said he signed Nigerian singer Davido to his first official music contract. 

This revelation comes like many other’s recently, via the tweet asking that people expose random facts about the music business. 

“Tweet your most random music fact.”

Ashafa quoted the tweet and wrote:

“I signed @davido to his 1st Offical contract under black diamond promotions with Cecil Hammond/another silent partner, we hired @GodwinTom to manage him.”

“Dr Adeleke realized David was really serious with pushing his music without him, reached out to us and bought us out.”

Davido has since confirmed the tweet.
