I can’t be Governor and not Governor – Obaseki laments external influence in Edo State Government

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has spoken out vehemently over the crisis involving the the state House of assembly, the National Assembly and the alleged external involvement of Ex-Governor and APC National chairman, Adams Oshiomole.

Obaseki lamented that he had endure much as Governor of Edo State with some decisions being made without his knowledge or approval including national appointments.

He said that enough was enough and pointed out that it was embarrassing that a state that had all members of the assembly under one party was going through such troubles.

He said that as the only APC Governor in the South South, he expected more protection from the National level. He said it was wrong for a person to pocket the state because they had done well before.

Finally he declared that he had sworn that he would not allow Edo State be used a pawn in the political chess game of others.

This s coming after the National Assembly ordered the IG of Police to shut down the Edo State house of Assembly and threatened to come and take it over.
